What a special summer! My 12-year-old twin nieces, ‘the bubbies’ came to visit! It was a little surreal to have them actually in my home, instead of vice versa. I loved it. We had a candy store trip; slumber party, Chick-Fil-A, river float, exploration, and my favorite thing the car ride chats.
The bubbies live in a single story house and ever since they were itty-bitty have always loved homes with stairs. One evening, as oldest bubbies was coming down our half set of stairs, she completed a half twirl rotation with each step her foot touched. Her movements were smooth and graceful her hair, long free flowing. It was as if I was watching an impromptu contemporary dance routine from Dancing With The Stars. It was by far the most elegant and unique way I have ever seen someone descend stairs.
Never in a million years would my mind conjure up this stair twirl decent. And lets be honest, that is probably for the best! Being a klutz and an adult of a certain age, a dizzying move like that accompanied with stairs is a recipe for disaster. It would be followed up with an ER visit.
This precious memory makes me wonder… What is so special and unique about me? What makes me stand out to Jesus in a sea of eight billion people? Is there anything I have ever done that God says; “No one has ever done that before?” Be it a Question? Thought? Action?
Mamas, what’s your twirl? How were you set apart? What thing that makes you special from all other humans who have walked the earth?
“I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb.
Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you…”
Jeremiah 1:5
